Designers and engineers internalized this principle when the V 100 was created in the late 1950s, but a model implementation makes this premise all the more challenging. The PIKO designers took this hurdle with flying colors and created a fascinating model. A special eye-catcher is the locomotive’s cooling system with finely etched grilles and the fan wheel visible underneath. The three-dimensional engravings on the front end and driver’s cab also structure the functional vehicle body. The overall impression is rounded off by the filigree bogies with numerous attached parts. The digital versions have factory switchable lighting for the driver’s cab and the instrument panel.
