The 923 Series 3000 Subtype T5 Formation, commonly known as “Doctor Yellow,” is a Shinkansen electric track testing vehicle that collects fundamental data for track maintenance on the Tōkaidō and Sanyō Shinkansen lines. It is characterized by its
yellow appearance and is highly popular among Shinkansen enthusiasts, children, and tourists alike. It is scheduled to retire around 2027.
