Variant of the class 216 in the DB version in Era IV. The class V 160 or 216 was the express locomotive for lines without catenary wire on the German Federal Railroad in the 1960s and 1970s. The new design of this important vehicle type not only closes a gap in PIKO´s assortment, but will also enrich many model railroad layouts of epochs III to V with numerous variants. The development team has implemented the striking styling of the prototype in outstanding quality in the model and at the same time achieved ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are underscored by the effective use of perfect engravings and a paint scheme that is coherent down to the smallest detail. Contemporary LED technology serves as the basis for the light change in red/white as well as the light functions that can be switched by retrofitting a digital decoder. The digital interface PluX22 according to NEM 658 is state of the art, a decoder can easily be plugged in. The buffer beam of the car can be completed prototypically with the accessory parts included.
